Ground rail transport is used for transport of material and persons on horizontal surface tracks of roadways and tunnels of underground mines where the track inclination does not exceed 35% and the profile is min 10 m².

Provided that underground roadways are horizontal, with a planned lifespan of many years, ground rail transport becomes the most efficient and economical mode of transport with the highest transport capacity.
Diesel and accumulator locomotives
Ferrit has developed a wide range of diesel and accumulator locomotives. All ground rail transport products meet requirements for operation in mines classified as hazardous areas with mining gases and coal dust explosion danger like coal mines.

Rack and pinion systems
The diesel and electro hydraulic rack and pinion power unit is designed to pull up to several tons in very steep inclines, allowing for the transport of material along the rack track in inclines of up to 40 degrees.

Ground rail transport has a wide range of accessories such as manipulators, cranes, or mobile workshops. Other additional equipment can be a high-pressure washer, drill, cutter, splitter, tensioner, and pumping machine.
